The Latvian Institute of International Affairs (LIIA), established in 1992, is the leading Latvian think tank in the sphere of international affairs. It conducts research, organizes public events, and provides recommendations on the latest international issues to Latvia’s decision-makers, experts, and the wider public. The LIIA specializes in Latvian foreign policy; transatlantic relations; European Union policies, including its neighborhood policy and Eastern Partnership; institutional affairs and the political economy of EU; multilateral and bilateral relations with Russia. It has also devoted thorough attention to various aspects of energy security and policies, and to regional relations.
